The museum
Step into a place where time stands still!
Built in 1884 and preserved in its original state, the museum has been listed as a “historic monument of regional significance” since 1997. Restored in 2000, it has retained the spirit of Switzerland’s early regional museums.
A room beyond time
The exhibition room beneath the roof preserves the encyclopedic display envisioned by its founders. At a glance, it offers a sweeping view of the world.
An eclectic collection
Donated by local benefactors, the objects and documents on display bear witness to community life in the 19th century.
The temporary exhibition
Each year, this exhibition explores a theme linked to local or regional history in the contemporary ground-floor space.
